Reasons Why Redcliffe Should be Your Next Vacation Spot!

Located 40 kilometres north of Brisbane, Redcliffe is a popular tourist destination. There are several reasons why visitors flock to this area of Queensland. In this article, we are going to attempt to explain some of the features that could influence that.

The Locals Are Friendly

Sure, every travel brochure ever produced to attract visitors has probably included “friendly locals” as a partial description of what to expect when you get to your destination. Redcliffe is quite honestly the same. There’s the feeling of a busy community without the headaches of a massive urban centre.

Although the term “laid back” has been overused, it still applies in this case. The traffic is light. If you get lost, someone will be willing to help guide you to where you were going. Just ask. There are no strangers in Redcliffe – just people you haven’t met yet and don’t be surprised you make a few new friends while visiting here.

The Weather Is Amazing Regardless Of Season

Okay, we have to preface this by saying it gets windy in Redcliffe. It also gets dreadfully stormy with rain. However, that’s more the exception than the rule. Please don’t be too shocked when we tell you that you are in an area that has more sunny days than not recording upwards of 300 in a year on average. And not so much rain.

But when it rains, it gets our attention because there isn’t as much of it as we tend to believe there is. This means that when it is gloomy and wet, it stands out because it’s not usually the weather we see here on a typical day. If you visit from somewhere where it snows, rest assured that won’t happen here and ruin your holiday.

Many Attractions To Interest Everyone

What makes you want to visit a holiday destination? What makes you stay there and want to come back again? Naturally, it will depend on your specific interests but the Redcliffe area has diversity in the features and attractions that can be shared with the general public. While the beaches are certainly a magnet, there is a lot more.

Examples range from your standard tourist attractions that feature a local spin, but there are also natural places to visit. This may be hiking, biking, touring vistas and more. There are also tours of all kinds, and assorted family fun places to see and things to do.

If You Are A Shopaholic, You'll Get Your Fix Here

Outdoor markets are somewhere to meet locals and get a taste of what makes Redcliffe tick. From food and drink to artisans and vendors, you will gain a good insight into the community. The retail core of Redcliffe has a little bit of everything so you are sure to find something you are looking for or something you didn’t know you needed.

Shops, stores, funky little boutiques, high-end fashion outlets, and many of the major brands you are familiar with back home make appearances here. If shopping is on your itinerary, you won’t be disappointed as you are sure to find a bargain somewhere that can’t be beaten.

When It's Time To Eat, You'll Be Fine

Whether you are looking for a quick coffee and muffin to people-watch with or desire a full-blown fine dining experience, you can satisfy that craving somewhere in Redcliffe. If your goal is to try fresh seafood, that’s here and fresher than you think. Some of it was probably purchased this morning from local commercial fishermen.

Farmers in the region get the nod for keeping the high quality, fresh produce they grow available to local restaurants so when you want to get a taste of the area, you can truly get a mouthful to savour. And don’t get us going about the menus you will encounter. There is something for everyone.

Rent A Car, Take A Self-Guided Tour

If you think Redcliffe is great, you should see the region that surrounds it. Rent a car and take a tour. You may crave a trip to the big city south of town (Brisbane) to experience the hustle and bustle Austrailan-style. Or, maybe your pace is more like that of the small towns and villages that are spread all over the countryside.

Pack your picnic basket and see where it takes you or explore small towns and check out their dining and shopping opportunities. One of the best ways to experience what the Redcliffe area offers is to get into it and check it out yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

Conclusion

If visiting Australia is on your holiday bucket list, you must make Redcliffe in Queensland one of your primary destinations. It has a lot going for it and you don’t want to miss that opportunity by not experiencing it. Redcliffe has much to offer ranging from friendly locals, pretty nice weather (all year long), lots to see and do, great shopping, even better food, and an interesting landscape dotted with small towns and villages just waiting to be explored.

Plus, since Redcliffe is just a stone’s throw away from Brisbane, you can get some “big city” activities into your holiday without having to travel across the country. Hmmm. Did we mention the beaches? Did we mention anything about watersports or activities? Well, since Redcliffe is considered a seaside resort, you won’t be too surprised to learn that means the city runs along the shoreline of the Pacific Ocean.

More precisely, along Moreton Bay, a shallow inlet of the Pacific Ocean. Think you’d like to visit us here in Redcliffe?
